Notes from the bench.
Three things worth knowing before spending a quarter on anything: why a jar stops working, what a label is allowed not to tell you, and how to judge the result without your memory doing the judging.
- 01Ninety days, and the three things worth writing downThe hardest part of judging a supplement is that you are the instrument. Memory rewrites itself towards whatever you expected, and a quarter is long enough for that to happen twice.
- 02What a label is hiding when it says blendA proprietary blend is a legal way to print a list of ingredients without printing how much of each one is in the jar. Reading one is a skill worth ten minutes.
- 03The month it stopped workingEveryone who has taken a supplement for long enough has the same sentence ready. It worked really well for the first month. That sentence is not a complaint about quality.
